Six Months Old

Allison turned six months old on February 25th, and she just keeps getting more and more wonderful. She has always been the baby of facial expressions, and this last month has been no exception. It's been so funny to watch her face go from happy to sad back to happy in mere seconds. It's also fun to see her love/fear relationship with her sister. Kaitlin can make Allison smile more brightly than anyone. Other times Allison gets this look of pure trepidation when Kaitlin enters the room (my dad calls it tweety bird with the putty cat).

A few other new things:

• She never cared for rice cereal, but she's doing great with pears, bananas, apples, squash, sweet potatoes (and really any other variety of potato), and oatmeal. She can hold and knaw on french fries and teething biscuits, and she LOVES otterpops (our family's new tradition before bed...not sure why:). She's still a nursing champ.
  
• She reaches for cheerios and puffs on her highchair, moves them around a lot, knocks them on the floor, but can't quite get them into her mouth.
  
• She's a champion sitter. I think those thunder thighs provide a great foundation.
  
• She's always been in constant motion, but now she does this funny forward and back bobbing thing when she sits. It's even better when she gets excited.
  
• She's insanely ticklish. Especially under her chin and on her sides. She giggles when your hands get close-even if you never touch her.
• She blows the best raspberries. It's even cute when she spits her squash out all over the table.
  
• She loves to watch Mike get ready for work in the morning. She just watches him move around the room, and then gives him a great big smile when he smiles at her. It's so cute!
  
• She's gotten kicked out of the nursery at the gym three times now (apparently she likes us and no one else). So, I've started working out in the mornings before hubby leaves for work, and Mike works out in the evenings. It's great.
  
• Still no teeth. No complaints here.
  
• Doc says she's 99th percentile for height and 89th for weight. Doc also says she's bet money that Allison will skip crawling and go straight to walking. We'll see.
