Introducing Carter Michael Bailey

Carter arrived on June 16th (a full three weeks early).  7 pounds 3 oz, 20 1/2 inches long, and perfect in every way.   I'd been to my baby shower the night before, and I had been having contraction type cramping all day long.  On the way home, I told him that he had held out through the shower and he was more than welcome to come now.  I woke up the next morning at 3:15 to discover that I was "leaking".  I asked Michael what we should do, and he said, "um, we go to the hospital."  We called our good friend Sally to come stay with the girls, and off we went.

When we got to the hospital, I was dilated to a 5 and they definitely agreed my water had broken.  I went super fast with the two girls' delivery, and so they always start my epidural right away so I don't miss my window.  I never felt any true contractions by the time I got the epidural, even though I was dilated to a 7 by then.

He was born at 9:01.

We feel so thankful to our Heavenly Father for sending us such a wonderful little buddy.  He's sweet, cuddly, and oh so loved.  Yeah for starting a new adventure with a little boy!

Our Day in Estes Park

We had a whole day this weekend with nothing going on, so we packed up the family and some snacks and headed up to Estes.  It was gorgeous weather, we got to eat pecan rolls and macadamia nut toffee (two of our favorites), and there weren't too many tourists yet.  Such a fun day!

Eating yummy burgers at Penelopes!

Splashing in the river in downtown Estes.

Visiting Hermit Park.  We're excited to rent a cabin and try camping here...it was such a big part of Michael's childhood growing up.

Easter

I've been waiting a long time for the cousins to all get old enough that they truly play, without any intervention from us.  We sat and chatted at the picnic table while the kids jumped and had a great time.  I love living so close to these kids!

My wonderful brother-in-law Jeff snapped these during the family Easter dinner.  Baileys have an amazing backyard for easter egg hunts, and so many of my favorite pictures have come from there.

Spring Break in Colorado Springs

We decided to stay close to home this break and hit "the Springs."  We stayed in a resort called the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, and it was really fun.  The hotel was nice, it had a really nice outdoor (heated of course) pool, an indoor pool, a really nice patio marshmellow roasting pit, and so much more.  I could definitely see us making a tradition of this place.

My growing belly

Here are the tummy shots at 25 weeks.  I think it's funny that, depending on what you are wearing, people either say "wow, you're not even showing" or "seriously, you think you're going to last 3 more months?"

We're having a boy!

We had our 20 week ultrasound this week, and the very first shot of our little guy was just that...clearly a boy!  Everything looks great (they even moved up my due date by 10 days:), and the girls are excited to have a little brother around here.  Here are a few of the fun pictures.

I think this one looks like a little robot with creepy eyes.

Yep, even Allison knew what that was.
