The countdown
I'm 38 weeks along, and apparently not only do I not have preeclampsia (yeah and dangit at the same time, I would be getting induced by now with Kaitlin) but I'm still only a centimeter dilated. I'm stuck in that place where I don't know if I should just wish the next two weeks away, or pray that they don't happen any faster than they're going to. I feel so tired and uncomfortable and just plain big (I'll post pics later)...but for now, we just keep waiting.
Along the same lines...

I was praying by my bed this morning and Kaitlin walks into my room. I read somewhere in the Ensign this week that it's okay to let our kids watch us pray, so I didn't hurry and get up like I usually do.
Mommy, what are you doing?
I'm praying to Heavenly Father, Kaitlin.
No, you're not praying mommy.
Why do you say that?
Because your mouth wasn't moving.
I just had to laugh. It's so entertaining to see her trying to figure the world out one step at a time.
How do you explain...

We were reading in the Book of Mormon this week about Nephi, and we got to the part about Nephi breaking his bow...
Kaitlin - "Why was Nephi sad?"
Mommy - "Because his bow was broken, and he was hungry."
Kaitlin - "Why did he need a bow to eat?"
Mommy - "No, he didn't eat the bow. He needed it so he could hunt some animals to eat." I should have known this was going in a bad direction.
Kaitlin looks up with huge crocodile tears - "Nephi wanted to kill the AMINALS." And then she runs crying to her room. How do you explain to a 2 year old that her favorite hamburger actually comes from a dead cow? It was so sad, and so funny at the same time.
