Carter arrived on June 16th (a full three weeks early). 7 pounds 3 oz, 20 1/2 inches long, and perfect in every way. I'd been to my baby shower the night before, and I had been having contraction type cramping all day long. On the way home, I told him that he had held out through the shower and he was more than welcome to come now. I woke up the next morning at 3:15 to discover that I was "leaking". I asked Michael what we should do, and he said, "um, we go to the hospital." We called our good friend Sally to come stay with the girls, and off we went.

| When we got to the hospital, I was dilated to a 5 and they definitely agreed my water had broken. I went super fast with the two girls' delivery, and so they always start my epidural right away so I don't miss my window. I never felt any true contractions by the time I got the epidural, even though I was dilated to a 7 by then. |

We feel so thankful to our Heavenly Father for sending us such a wonderful little buddy. He's sweet, cuddly, and oh so loved. Yeah for starting a new adventure with a little boy!
