We were reading in the Book of Mormon this week about Nephi, and we got to the part about Nephi breaking his bow...
Kaitlin - "Why was Nephi sad?"
Mommy - "Because his bow was broken, and he was hungry."
Kaitlin - "Why did he need a bow to eat?"
Mommy - "No, he didn't eat the bow. He needed it so he could hunt some animals to eat." I should have known this was going in a bad direction.
Kaitlin looks up with huge crocodile tears - "Nephi wanted to kill the AMINALS." And then she runs crying to her room. How do you explain to a 2 year old that her favorite hamburger actually comes from a dead cow? It was so sad, and so funny at the same time.

Oh that is so funny! Good luck with that! But look how good of an example you are, praying in front of her and reading scriptures with her. Good momma! Good luck these last two weeks, I totally know how you feel!
Oh, that is so sad - and yet, so danged hilarious at the same time!!! Good luck explaining that meat-animals connection. :)
One of my favorite Pheobe songs from Friends:
The cow in the meadow says Moo!
The cow in the meadow says Moo!
The farmer comes and cuts of his head and thats how we get hamburgers.
I can sing to her if you want.
